The bible has lots to say about focus, here are a few verses to consider.

  1. 1 Peter 1:13-16 WEB – Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: 15 But as he who hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of deportment. 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
  2. Matthew 6:33 WEB – But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
  3. 1Peter 5:8 WEB – Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
  4. Psalm 119:105 WEB – NUN. Thy word [is] a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.
  5. Psalm 145:5 WEB – I will speak of the glorious honor of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.
  6. 1Corinthians 14:40 WEB – Let all things be done decently, and in order.
  7. Romans 8:5 WEB -For they that are according to the flesh, do mind the things of the flesh: but they that are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

  9. Colossians 3:2 WEB – Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
  10. Matthew 6:24 WEB – No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
  11. Isaiah 32:8 WEB – But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.
  12. Proverbs 24:3-4 WEB – Through wisdom is a house built; and by understanding it is established: 4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

  14. Isaiah 26:3 WEB – Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee.
  15. Proverbs 16:3 WEB – Commit thy works to the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
  16. Proverbs 2:2-5 WEB – So that thou incline thy ear to wisdom, [and] apply thy heart to understanding; 3 Yes, if thou criest after knowledge, [and] liftest up thy voice for understanding; 4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as [for] hid treasures; 5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
  17. Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB – Trust in the LORD with all thy heart; and lean not to thy own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he will direct thy paths.
  18. Proverbs 24:27 WEB – Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thy house.
  19. Proverbs 15:22 WEB – Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counselors they are established.
  20. Amos 3:7 WEB – Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret to his servants the prophets.
  21. Proverbs 4:25 WEB – Let thy eyes look right on, and let thy eyelids look straight before thee.
  22. 1Chronicles 16:11 KJV – Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.
  23. Colossians 2:6-8 KJV – As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, [so] walk ye in him: 7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
  24. Jeremiah 29:11 KJV – For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
  25. Proverbs 16:9 KJV – A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
  26. 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV – Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
  27. Hebrews 11:1 KJV – Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
  28. Romans 12:2 WEB – And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good and acceptable, and perfect will of God.
