I went to the TJ Maxx to grab a new whisk the other day and as I was getting in my car I heard someone lay down the horn at another car. There’s another angry driver in this parking lot. It’s actually quite common these days. Everyone is busy and many of us are frustrated. That’s why it’s important to remember to take time out of our very busy days and dive deep into the Word.
Breathe…
There’s something about Bible journaling that calms me and helps me remember to breathe. Maybe it’s the encouraging Scripture, the Holy Spirit, a much-needed break, or all of these things that put me in a state of complete relaxation.

As I began to reflect on the first devotional from this month’s kit, I’m encouraged by the Psalm of the good shepherd. Psalm 23 reminds me that I have what I need, God knows my path, and I can rest in the truth that is His love.
Of course, my head starts wandering as it normally does to the future. What does 2019 look like for me? I’ve got a surgery coming up that I’ve put off and canceled once before. But, now it’s time. Will I dread or dwell on it? Nah. God has great plans for me, and he does for you too!
2019 is the year of health for me, and I’m so excited to see what he has in store. So for today, I’ll continue working to prepare for surgery with exercises and good food choices, always remembering to take breaks and open my Bible, because that’s where the good stuff is.
