About the Bible
I’ve done quite a few posts on the Illustrating Bible, but I’ll reiterate some of the most important features in this post as well.
I love the Illustrating Bible because I can use my favorite mediums, paints, and watercolors without worrying about bleed-through. The pages are 75% thicker than typical journal Bibles which reduces bleed through. I have an entire playlist on YouTube on what works well in the DaySpring Illustrated Bible. From markers to inks, I’ve tested everything in my stash.
The Illustrating Bible has 3 3/4″ wide margins with blank space and is the only Bible on the market right now with this much space to journal in. Usually, you get 2″ to Bible journal with. I love having that extra space and have considered using mine more instead of always using my larger faith art journal. It’s a little bulky coming in at 9 1/4″ x 9 1/4″ x 2″ and 936 pages, so I keep mine on my desk and travel with a smaller Bible.
The version of the larger Illustrating Bibles is CSB – Christian Standard Bible, whereas the single Illustrating Bibles are NIV. The CSB is a major revision of the HCSB translation. It draws from both formal and dynamic translation philosophies, balancing contemporary English readability with linguistic precision to the original languages. While NIV is my favorite, I do enjoy reading other translations which helps me see things that I may have missed in my favorite translations.
Finally, the DaySpring Illustrated Bible is just gorgeous. It has a faux leather cover, foil stamp detailing, faux suede liner on inside covers, and
a metallic spiral binding that helps it lay flat or fold over quite easily. It comes in a premium keepsake box – perfect for gift giving!
Here are a few of my creations 🙂
