Bible Journaling in the Book of Micah
I spent some time this week Bible journaling in the book of Micah. It’s a short book and can be read at least once in one sitting. It’s that short. Plus…if you read it, you can say that you read an entire book of the Bible today – bonus!
Micah is a prophet from the Old Testament. In his Book, he shares God’s coming judgment on Israel because they are rebellious and have broken their covenant. The good news is that he ends with hope. I love the last part about how Israel will rise and gives praise to God. I hope you are encouraged to check out the Book of Micah today!
But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.
This Bible is the Inspire Bible. I glued a die cut butterfly in the spine.
Woe to those who plan iniquity, to those who plot evil on their beds! At morning’s light they carry it out because it is in their power to do it. 2 They covet fields and seize them, and houses, and take them. They defraud people of their homes, they rob them of their inheritance.
This is done with cheap acrylic paints. I used a Faber Castell Pitt pen to create the houses and Artist Loft level 1 paints for color. It was real fun.
As for you, watchtower of the flock, stronghold of Daughter Zion, the former dominion will be restored to you; kingship will come to Daughter Jerusalem.
This entry is done in my faith journal. I drew the face with a pencil and used a charcoal pencil for shadows. The background is a collage that I did with a gel press. I used watercolors for color. Then I used a white gel pen to write the verse in her hair along with some flowers.
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
This is another entry in my faith journal. I used watercolors on a drawing I did by hand.
Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.
9 Because I have sinned against him, I will bear the Lord’s wrath, until he pleads my case and upholds my cause.
He will bring me out into the light; I will see his righteousness.
This is the HSCB illustrators Bible. I loved the sun and I used gel pens to bring this page to life.
Shepherd your people with your staff, the flock of your inheritance, which lives by itself in a forest, in fertile pasturelands. Let them feed in Bashan and Gilead as in days long ago.
This is the Promises of God Bible. I used watercolor to paint it. No gesso needed.
You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.
When I did this entry, I didn’t like it at first. I had to add the sun in the background because it represents a new day – or hope. I love the message of hope in this verse.
