This week I’m Bible journaling Luke, which makes sense since we’re in the month of December. Both Matthew and Luke are my favorite books of the Bible to journal in during this month. Of course, I love the story of Jesus’ birth, but I also love the accounts of Mary and Joseph during that time.

I wonder how Mary, who was quite young at the time, handled the interactions with people as she started showing, and what her parents thought of it all. I admire the belief and courage she had from the moment the angel spoke to her. When the angel told her that she was going to give birth to the promised messiah she said, “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Despite the possibility of being stoned due to adultery, she trusted the Lord. Wow. What an amazing person to put on my list of role models and people I want to be like.

Bible Journaling Luke

Here are my Bible journaling entries for this week as I Bible journal in the Book of Luke. The first one is Mary, my role model for trust, courage, and belief. If you’d like more Christmas Bible journaling ideas, click here.

Bible Journaling Luke 1:46-55

Luke 1:46-55

Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord. My spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior, for he has looked at the humble state of his servant. For behold, from now on, all generations will call me blessed. For he who is mighty has done great things for me. Holy is his name. His mercy is for generations of generations on those who fear him. He has shown strength with his arm. He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He has put down princes from their thrones. And has exalted the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things. He has sent the rich away empty. He has given help to Israel, his servant, that he might remember mercy, As he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and his offspring forever.”
