This week I’m Bible journaling in the Gospel of Matthew. I started with an overview of the entire book in my art journal. I find it helpful to understand each book of the Bible and map it out this way before diving deep into the corresponding chapters. Then I Bible journal in my favorite Scriptures or ones that I’m trying to dive deeper into and study.
I’ve listed a supply list at the bottom of this post. Please note that if you purchase anything with links, you’ll be supporting our ministry at no additional cost to you. Thank you!
An Overview of the Gospel Of Matthew
In my overview, I’ve written the title in the middle and placed some information about the author and interesting facts in the upper corners of the page. On the next third of the page, I’ve written down key points, important passages, and themes. At the bottom third, I’ve added key actions, points, things that call to me, or things I want to remember about my Bible journaling time. I find this is a great way to get an overview of any book of the Bible and it makes it fun to reference later.
After I’ve completed an overview, I start Bible journaling and referencing the overview when I need to. I don’t always do the overview. Only when I’m studying and focused on a particular book of the Bible for a decent amount of time. I should probably do this more!
