Meet Juliana Heintz Pace! Juliana is a member of our Facebook group and has a wonderful story as well as a blog!
How did you discover Bible Journaling?
I was handicapped in 2001 and I was drawn to creating art by God as a way to fill my time and commune with Him. I believe that I was led into it by God through my own Inspirational Art and then through other Christian artists who did Bible Journaling who were shared with me.
How has Bible journaling changed you, your life, or your walk with God?
OH MY, it has improved my entire outlook on life and what it is actually meant to be. My focus has changed. I have Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder and the art slows me down enough to hear from God and to meditate on Him and His Word.
What is your favorite technique?
I love it all but I would have to say that using gesso and layering from there brings to mind the whole mixed-media process done elsewhere in mixed-media art. Yet after a session working with my Bible, I am more drawn to His Word, reflecting for much of my day after.
What is one recommendation you have for others who are getting into Bible journaling?
Pray and jump in. God has not given us a spirit of fear, go for it! God is the Ultimate Creator, who better for a teacher?
What else would you like to share:
James 4:8 “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” If you start praying and Bible Journaling, this will happen!
What’s your favorite verse of the Bible and why?
John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” Because I had no peace until I found Him.
